Depleted Uranium (DU) bullet

One way of getting rid of nuclear waste is to make armour piercing bullets out of it and fire it at human beings. An estimated 300 tonnes of depleted uranium (a waste product from the uranium enrichment process) was fired on Iraqi people during the Gulf War. When heated, DU 'aerosolises' into a fine powder, contaminating the battlefield with widespread radiation. DU is believed to be one of the major causes of the so-called 'Gulf War Syndrome' which affected combatants and civillians on all sides of the conflict.
