Mining Projects
Since the 2008 state election when the ban on uranium mining was lifted mining companies and exploration companies have been in a race to get the first uranium mine up and running in WA.
There are many factors currently inhibiting the industries big push into this state. Including small and low grade deposits, the proposed super profits tax and sustained community opposition to all levels of the nuclear industry.
WA has a strong history of opposition against this industry and we now have two years before the next state election to permanently close the door to this industry in WA.
