radioactive man - court report

march 21, 2001

today radioactive man faced our courts for disorderly conduct. all of this for laying down in front of john howard's car, a desperate attempt to discuss with a range of community concerns from the ongoing genocide in our desert, to his government's action in spending more money on nuclear r&d than on renewables!!!!

anyhow radioactive man has a hearing on the 7th of august.

best of all mike, olly and ben turned the court appearance into a direct and hilarious action . . . . led by future generations dude (aka big bongo benna) after he was told by an officer of the law that what he was wearing was inappropriate for the court. ben flatly rejected the officer and made a few good jokes and had a yarn about democracy free speech and introduced the characters of the day to an audience of 30 waiting for their court appearance and supporting friends. waiting for court we had a long and loud yarn to a federal police comrade simon. talking about all of the actions that have been going on all over the country in this renewed time of political activism from many levels of our society and huge rant about the ongoing story of our south west forests.

in court, getting a date sussed was easy. future generations dude then decided to make a direct communication to the magistrate . . .

"magistrate this police officer (pointing) tried to stop me coming into this court to support my friend because of my dress, he called me a clown. do you think i'm a clown???"

the magistrate told ben that she cared not for his dress but for his behaviour and his behaviour was orderly!

fgd: "i just wanted to draw to your attention that this officer was in your name, trying to prevent me from entering this court"

magistrate "thanks for drawing that to my attention"

future generations dude was more that happy to share the news to the 30 or so crew in the waiting room, and then proceed to tell everyone about the french visit and our opposition to nuclear navies.

wondering why fgd was taking so long i asked, the humiliated officer of oppression said, "he's off spreading more of his lies" . . .

it was great to see a warmly received production directed by future generations dude unfold in another chapter of their growing campaign to see nukes whack john howard and his cohorts right in the face in this years election.

shout out to mike and mark allen

peace, love, anarchy
