Adivasis launch a month of protest aimed at bringing their plight to the attention of the broader community and to make the links between uranium mining, nuclear power and nuclear weapons. They signify a new stage in the campaign, with protest shifting to the important nearby city of Jamshedpur for the first time. Shipments of nuclear waste into the Jadugoda mine for dumping were halted for the duration of the actions.
