Write to the Indian Prime Minister

Send this letter to the Government of India today! Print it out using the address directly below, or email your own version to the Indian Prime Minister's office.

To: The Prime Minister
Government of India
Prime Ministers Office
New Delhi, India.

Dear Shri Atal Behari Vajpai

I am writing to express my alarm at reports of the proposed expansion and the harmful affects of the Jadugoda Uranium Mine on tribal lands in Bihar, now Jharkhand. It seems that dumping of radioactive waste, and using such dangerious waste for construction purposes is going on despite the Supreme Court proceedings under way, and despite a report from the Chairman of the Environmental Committee, Bihar State Legislative Assembly describing the situation at the Jadugoda Uranium Mine as "deplorable".

I respectfully request that you order UCIL (Uranium Corporation of India Ltd.) to cease dumping of waste on Tribal lands and resume negotiations with the Adivasi people of the area; with particular regard to the demands set out by the Jharkhandi Organisation Against Radiation.

I would appreciate a reply on this matter.

Humbly yours,

etc.
